Mental health in the workplace

About this course

Managing people can be difficult, but I do my best. However, I am concerned that my best is not good enough, and I may not be fostering a genuinely mentally healthy workplace.

How do I know if my workplace is mentally healthy?  Is it really my fault if someone does not like my style and becomes distressed?  Is it now necessary to be an expert in psychology just to do a supervisory or management role?

Wouldn’t it be good to have answers to the above questions? Would it be helpful to know exactly what your responsibilities are for the workplace and the mental health of employees?  If so, this half day seminar is right for you.

Course content

  • Where does responsibility for mental health in the workplace lie?
  • What are the indicators that your workplace may not be a mentally healthy workplace?
  • What preventative measure can you take?
  • How do we identify an individual who may not be coping?
  • How do we manage an employee with a psychological illness?

The seminar will conclude with a question and answer session.  This is your chance to ask those difficult questions about this complex area of people management.
